Current Students

 Updated copies of the Occupational Therapy Student Handbook are distributed during orientation for incoming students. Hard copies are available for review in the Department of Occupational Therapy Office 1E12.

The York College Occupational Therapy Department is pleased to report having a contract with the New York City Department of Education (DOE). Information regarding the NYC DOE Occupational Therapy Scholarship Program website.

OT Students also have two scholarship opportunities:

The Yves Roseus Citizen's Award for Outstanding Service and Advocacy in Occupational Therapy.

Dr. Yves Roseus, an esteemed York College Alumnus and Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Department of Occupational Therapy, led a life dedicated to service and advocacy. In addition to his dedication to the York College community, he was a Senior Occupational Therapist at Brookdale Hospital. He also served on the Roster of Accreditors for ACOTE, and was a Board Member of NYSOTA and NYSBOTC. His commitment to service and advocacy also helped to establish an occupational therapy program in Haiti. The Dr. Yves Roseus Citizen's Award at York College has been established in loving memory of Dr. Roseus's dedication and commitment to service and advocacy.

The award will provide financial support to a York College Occupational Therapy student who demonstrates outstanding commitment to service and advocacy in the community and occupational therapy.

The Wimberly Edwards Scholarship. Professor Edwards was the Founding Director of the York OT Program. She continues to remain engaged with the program by attending the annual pinning ceremony for the York Occupational Therapy graduating students. The purpose of this scholarship is intended to support students in the Occupational Therapy Program who demonstrate academic excellence or have severe financial need

York Student Occupational Therapy Association (YSOTA)

is the program's student-led program club where OT students socialize, plan for community service activities, invite occupational therapists to present on topics, and interact with faculty outside of the classroom.

York College Occupational Therapy Alumni

Our best ambassadors are our students and alumni. Our alumni continue giving back to the program by either returning as professors or those that continue to work in clinics, become Fieldwork Clinical Educators for our students. It is exciting and heartwarming to see our students being mentored by York College Occupational Therapy alumni.
