City's Arraignment System Reformed by York Alum
Honorable George Grasso, 1980
The Honorable George Grasso, Class of 1980, is reforming New York’s arraignment system. CourtStat, created by Grasso, is designed to decrease the average time defendants are processed and arraigned.
Grasso held a meeting consisting of chiefs, lawyers, judges and borough police chiefs in which a strategic plan was set in place to transport defendants to Central Booking.
