Introduction of CUNYfirst - "Call to Action" forum
|To:||All faculty; deans; program directors|
|From:||Ivelaw Lloyd Griffith, Ph.D., Provost & Senior Vice President, Academic Affairs|
As you probably know, the College is in the midst of a transition to CUNYfirst. This transition will bring with it a number of significant changes in how we go about our day-to-day business. Everyone - staff, faculty and students - will have to adapt to this system when it goes live at York College in April 2013. Thus, you may have heard that eSIMs/SIMS will be completely phased out in March. Also, as of April all grades, financial aid, registration, and other essential services will all be conducted through CUNYfirst.
In order to explain some of these changes, you are invited to attend the CUNYfirst campus-wide "Call to Action" meeting on February 14, 2013, 12:30 pm, in Room 3D01. This meeting will inform everyone on what steps to take in order to be ready for the transition.
During this meeting, a representative from the CUNY Communications Office will give a brief presentation regarding the transition to the new CUNYFIRST system. Representatives from Bursar, Financial Aid, IT, Registrar, Student Development, and Scholarships will also be on hand for the Q&A session immediately following the presentation to field questions from the audience.
Department chairs and faculty are encouraged to alert your students and staff to the urgency of attending this meeting to be fully prepared when we transition away from eSIMS.
Please be sure to post the meeting notices in every classroom and all offices.
