Professor Cathleen Lilavois, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), serves as the Field Director and Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) Instructor for the MSW Program at CUNY York College. She has over 20 years of practice expertise in child welfare. Prior to her current position, she held leadership roles, including foster care case planner, preventive services case planner, foster care supervisor, trauma systems therapy clinical supervisor, and administrative supervisor. Professor Lilavois is well-versed in trauma systems therapy as well as other evidenced-based models, with particular emphasis on parenting and attachment theory, bonding between caregivers and children. Professor Lilavois also coordinates and supervises baccalaureate level and MSW level interns and teaches practices courses. Professor Lilavois earned her Master of Social Work from Fordham University.
