Dr. Renée Wright began her career in 1989 as staff nurse in the emergency department at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. She has held various nursing leadership and teaching positions including a Joint Appointment with York College and New York Hospital Queens for four semesters as a Distinguished Lecturer. In 2011, she followed her passion for teaching and accepted a full-time tenure track position as an Assistant Professor at York College, City University of New York. During this time Dr. Wright has worked on several simulation projects. The first project was an interdisciplinary project with nursing, teacher education, and physician assistant programs to develop a stroke scenario using Second Life. She has incorporated high-fidelity simulation and virtual simulation within all the courses she teaches. Dr. Wright has recently completed a multi-site simulation study investigating the use of virtual simulation in an Adult Health I course.
