Medical leave/Reduced Course Load

Each international student must register full-time (12 credits) every semester, except the last semester. Before registering or dropping below a full course load, an international student must receive authorization from a Designated School Official (DSO).

During the course of a student's studies, he/she is allowed to use two Medical RCL's.

The information requested is needed to comply with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations. The designated school official may allow an F-1 student to engage in a less than full course of study. A student who drops below a full course of study without the prior approval of the DSO will be considered out of status.
